Since the first edition in 2003, the Bikers'Classics have gained more overseas interest, to the point that the English can be called the most loyal foreign visitors of the event. This impressive and sympathetic delegation is often attracted by some star rider. In 2016, John McGuiness represented the British colours. For the 15th edition, it is another Tourist Trophy star that will be part of this exceptional race: Guy Martin!
Guy Martin is a true star in England and enjoys a lot of respect. He is a truck mechanic of profession and has always enjoyed a lot of media attention. He owes it to his somewhat particular style, making him also the main character in the documentary "Tourist Trophy: Closter to the edge".
When he first participated in the TT in 2004, Guy Martin broke the record of the newcomers with an average speed of 196.5 km/h per lap. Afterwards however he did not book any victories anymore, but he managed to get the highest number of podiums (15) without victories...
This year he once again had some bad luck during the TT (crash and mechanical problem), but Guy Martin will profit from the Bikers'Classics to clear his mind and rediscover the pleasure of riding with authentic machines. He will participate in the endurance race of the European Classic Series with a 1982 GSX1100 Katana from the official Suzuki Team. He also participates in the GP parade on a 1994 Suzuki RGV 500 by Kevin Schwantz. So it will be worthwhile to attend the event on June 30 and July 1 and Spa Francorchamps.
